Subject: Outgoing SMPT mail "Failed to connect to SMTP host"
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows 2003 server
Release: 8.0.1
Reproducible: Always

I've posted a reply to a thread that goes back to April 08. Wanted to start a new thread so that other experts in this area might be able to respond.

I set up an 8.0.1 mail server a few weeks ago and have been experiencing difficulties sending outbound SMTP mail. A lot of SMTP mail is successfully routing, but it appears that at least 50% is not. Always seems to be the same domains. A TraceRT from the server suggests these domains should be deliverable. I've been working with both my ISP and the recipients mail admins to figure out where long the way the message is being blocked. Our new mail server's IP address does not appear to be on any blacklists.

Any help would be appreciated.
